Custom plugins that carry your business logic, safely outside the theme.

When real functionality gets stuffed into a theme's functions.php, every redesign becomes a rewrite. A proper plugin isolates your business logic, bookings, calculators, syncs, portals, reporting, so it survives theme changes, gets versioned, and can be tested on its own.

The approach

Filed under Engineering. The deeper stack: plugins, applications, APIs and AI features.

I develop plugins the way the WordPress core handbook says to: namespaced PHP, sanitized input, escaped output, capability checks, and update routines. I also publish my own free plugins on the WordPress.org repository, so I know the review process from the inside.

What the engagement includes

06 deliverables · all in the quoted price

01The headline deliverable

Business-logic plugins

Custom functionality scoped, built and documented, from admin dashboards to front-end apps.

02

API integration plugins

Two-way syncs with CRMs, ERPs, payment processors and internal tools, with logging and retries.

03

Gutenberg blocks

Native blocks with React-based editor experiences your writers will actually enjoy.

04

Elementor widget packs

Custom widgets and dynamic tags that extend Elementor for your exact use case.

05

Plugin customization & enhancement

Existing plugins, WooCommerce, membership, forms, anything, extended with the feature it's missing, update-safely via hooks.

06

Free + Pro plugin builds

Repository-ready free versions with licensed pro upgrades, the freemium model, done right.

How it runs

Same four beats on every engagement, this one included. No discovery-call theater.

01

Brief in plain language

Describe the project the way you'd say it out loud. Links, deadlines and a rough budget all help.

02

Written quote in one business day

A fixed range and a recommendation, plus an honest note if this service isn't the right fit for it.

03

Build on a private staging link

You watch progress live and give feedback in plain words. No ticket system required.

04

Launch, then 30 days of support

Fixes and tweaks are included while the site settles in. After that, you choose what ongoing care looks like.

Honest answers first

Q1What does a custom plugin cost?

Small single-purpose plugins start at $100. Most business-logic and integration plugins land between $300 and $1,000, and large products, licensing layers, multi-addon suites, complex syncs, run up to $2,000. You get a fixed written quote before any code is written.

Q2Will a custom plugin break when WordPress updates?

Not if it's written against public APIs instead of internals. I code to documented hooks and schema, test against beta releases of major versions, and none of my production plugins have been broken by a core update.

Q3Can you build a plugin I can sell?

Yes, including the licensing/activation layer, automatic updates from your own server, and a free lite version for the WordPress.org repository to feed the funnel.

Q4Do you take over existing plugins?

Frequently. I'll audit the codebase first and give you a straight answer on whether it should be refactored or rebuilt, with the cost of each path.
