Small single-purpose plugins start at $100. Most business-logic and integration plugins land between $300 and $1,000, and large products, licensing layers, multi-addon suites, complex syncs, run up to $2,000. You get a fixed written quote before any code is written.
Q2Will a custom plugin break when WordPress updates?
Not if it's written against public APIs instead of internals. I code to documented hooks and schema, test against beta releases of major versions, and none of my production plugins have been broken by a core update.
