Affiliate disclosure
How affiliate links work on this site and how they are labelled. Last updated 14 October 2026.
The short version
Some links in my blog posts are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the company may pay me a commission. You pay the same price either way.
Which links are affiliate links
Affiliate links appear mainly in hosting comparisons and tool roundups, for example links to web hosts, WordPress plugins and themes, and developer tools. They never appear on my service pages or in quotes.
- Any post that contains an affiliate link says so near the top, before the first link.
- Affiliate links are marked with
rel="sponsored"in the page code, as Google asks. - Links to official documentation, pricing pages and sources are plain links, not affiliate links.
How I decide what to recommend
Commissions do not decide the verdict. A comparison names the option I would pick for a client in that situation, even when it pays nothing or pays less than the alternative.
- Prices are checked on the vendor’s own pricing page on the day a post is written or updated.
- Renewal prices are shown next to the promo price, because that is what you will pay after year one.
- Downsides are listed for every product, including the ones I link to as an affiliate.
- No company has paid for a review, a ranking or a mention on this site.
Advertising
Blog posts may also show display ads in the future. Ads will be clearly separated from the article, and no advertiser can change what a post says.
